The 50% rule
If a repair costs more than half the price of a comparable new appliance, replacement usually makes sense. Under that, repair is almost always the better value.
Factor in age
Washers and dryers typically last 10–13 years. A repair on a 4-year-old machine is a no-brainer; a major repair on a 12-year-old unit deserves a harder look.
Consider reliability & efficiency
If a unit has needed multiple repairs, or you'd gain meaningful energy/water savings from a newer model, replacement can pay off over time. We'll lay out the numbers without pressure.
Our promise
We'd rather earn a customer for life than push an unnecessary repair. If replacing is the smarter move, we'll say so.
Dealing with this yourself? We can usually fix it the same day.
