1. Failed heating element (electric)
The #1 cause on electric dryers. The element burns out over time and the dryer keeps tumbling with no heat. It's a straightforward replacement for a technician.
2. Blown thermal fuse
A safety fuse that trips when the dryer overheats — usually due to restricted airflow. We replace the fuse and fix the airflow cause so it doesn't blow again.
3. Faulty thermostat or thermistor
These regulate temperature. When they fail, the dryer may not call for heat at all.
4. Igniter or gas valve coils (gas dryers)
On gas models, a worn igniter or failed gas valve coil stops the burner from lighting. A common, affordable repair.
5. Clogged venting
A lint-packed vent is both a no-heat cause and a real fire hazard. Always worth a professional inspection.
6. Bad control board
Less common, but a failed control board can stop the heat circuit. We diagnose this last, after ruling out cheaper causes.
Dealing with this yourself? We can usually fix it the same day.
