1. Failed heating element (electric)
The #1 cause on electric dryers. The element burns out over time and the dryer keeps tumbling with no heat. It's a straightforward replacement for a technician.
2. Blown thermal fuse
A safety fuse that blows when the dryer overheats — usually due to restricted airflow. We replace the fuse and fix the airflow cause so it doesn't blow again.
3. Faulty thermostat or thermistor
These regulate temperature. When they fail, the dryer may not call for heat at all.
4. Igniter or gas valve coils (gas dryers)
On gas models, a worn igniter or failed gas valve coil stops the burner from lighting. It's a common, affordable repair, but one for a technician rather than a DIY fix. If you smell gas, leave and call your gas utility.
5. Clogged venting
A lint-packed vent is both a no-heat cause and a real fire hazard. Our technicians inspect the vent path and clear blockages as part of a dryer repair visit. If your dryer does heat but takes two or three cycles, see why a dryer takes too long to dry.
6. Bad control board
Less common, but a failed control board can stop the heat circuit. We diagnose this last, after ruling out cheaper causes.
