The 5 Most Common Washing Machine Problems

Leaks, no spin, won't drain, loud noises, and won't start — the five washing machine problems we fix most, and what causes each.

After years of washer repairs across Utah, the same handful of problems comes up again and again. Here's what causes them and how we fix them.

1. Leaking water

Usually a worn door seal, cracked hose, or failing pump. We trace the exact source and replace the failed part to stop it for good.

2. Won't spin

Clothes come out soaked. The culprit is typically the drive belt, motor, lid switch, or door lock. A common same-day fix.

3. Won't drain

Standing water points to a clogged pump or drain hose. We clear and repair the drainage system to prevent odors and mold.

4. Loud or banging operation

Grinding or a roar during spin usually means worn tub bearings; banging is more often an unbalanced load, worn shock absorbers or suspension rods, or a loose counterweight. We pinpoint the noise and restore quiet operation.

5. Won't start

Often a lid switch, door lock, or control issue. We diagnose the electrical fault and get you running again.

Still dealing with this? We can usually fix it the same day.
